A Cover Reveal and Pre-Order Sale

Updated: Jun 12, 2023

A have some NEW BOOK NEWS: my next one is a wacky middle grade nonfiction book!

I am over the moon to annouce the publication of my next book The Great Big ME Experiment, coming to you on October 17th, 2023 from Odd Dot/Macmillan! The incredible Harry Briggs created the art, Tae Won Yu is the supreme being behind the design, and the incomparable Justin Krasner was my ultimate champion throughout the editorial process.

If Bill Nye and a pre-teen Daniel Tiger got together at a sleepover party to do a SLAM book, the result would be this silly, sweet, gross, serious, and thought-provoking nonfiction book for 8-12 year olds. It’s chock-full of fun experiments—75 of them, to be exact—designed specifically to get a kid asking questions and really learning about themselves physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially.

And here is the cover reveal!

I am in love with how it turned out, and think the book might really help kiddos who are going through those pre-teen years that sometimes make you want to retreat into a cave and be consumed by darkness. I'm hoping this book will help bring some light and lightness to those years.

And, here's the super-exciting part: Barnes & Noble is running a 25% off sale on ALL PRE-ORDERS from today through Friday (4/26/23 - 4/28/23). That means you can order my book this week and then it will land on your doorstep on Oct 17, like a little forgotten gift from past-YOU. Do yourself a favor and buy yourself a bookish gift this week.

Use the code PREORDER25 at bn.com to get a copy of The Great Big ME Experiment, and tons of other great books that have not published yet. And for a great 101 on why it's important and helpful to pre-order books, check out this delightful Instagram post that offers a great analogy.
