Author bio

Alli Brydon is a children's book author and lifelong New Yorker who moved to the south of England with her family in 2018. She really likes to draw, and dreams about illustrating children's books one day. Her favorite place is the beach, but the mountains speak her language. Alli has the sense of humor of a 7-year-old. And she will never ever kill a spider.

Myths and Legends of the World, Alli's first fiction book for children, published in October 2019 with Lonely Planet Kids. Her wicked ah-some Boston-themed picture book Lobstah Gahden published in April 2021 with Sourcebooks eXplore. She has fiction and nonfiction books forthcoming with Amazon/Two Lions, Disney, Macmillan, and National Geographic Kids.

Editor Bio

Alli Brydon is many things: a freelance children's book editor, a creative, a publishing expert, a cheerleader, and a project manager. She helps children's book publishers and authors hone and develop their nonfiction and fiction picture books, chapter books, and middle grade novels and get great books into kids' hands. Having worked with many publishing houses in the US and UK, as both children's book editor and literary agent, she is an industry insider who won't make you feel like an outsider.

Growing up in a family of visual artists, wordsmiths, and readers, Alli honed both detail-oriented and creative sides of her personality. After she earned her MFA in Poetry from Sarah Lawrence College in 2005, she jumped enthusiastically into a career in children's book publishing in New York City.

After 10 years "in-house" at Sterling Publishing, she turned her talents to nurturing and developing a stable of authors and illustrators as a literary agent at Bright Agency. Then in 2017, she launched Alli Brydon Creative, a full-service freelance children's book editorial business; her unique blend of skills and experience bringing huge success to her varied clients.

If you are a children's book author whose dream is to self-publish, a kidlit writer and/or illstrator who wants to get noticed by agents and editors, or an editor at a publishing house with too much on your plate right now, Alli will help you craft, edit, and polish your children's book project to perfection!
